INSPIRE Project Communication Materials Displayed at Messina City Hall

07/04/2026

The Municipality of Messina, as Lead Partner of the INSPIRE project, has installed dedicated informational materials in the entrance hall of Palazzo Comunale. Beyond standard display within project office spaces, the decision to position communication materials in the main public hall significantly enhances the visibility of this European cooperation initiative among citizens and institutional visitors. The displayed posters present the project’s core objectives and operational framework. INSPIRE promotes an innovative tourism model that integrates biodiversity preservation, agrobiodiversity valorisation and traditional knowledge as strategic assets for sustainable territorial development and social cohesion across Mediterranean regions. The materials communicate essential project data including partnership composition, financial architecture and implementation timeline, providing transparent information about this EU-funded initiative. The choice to extend communication materials beyond internal project office display to the institutional headquarters’ public areas reflects a strategic approach to stakeholder engagement. The entrance hall of Palazzo Comunale serves as a high-traffic interface between municipal administration and the community, ensuring maximum exposure to diverse audiences ranging from residents accessing public services to institutional delegations and professional stakeholders. This placement demonstrates the Municipality’s commitment to transparent communication regarding European projects implemented within the territory, moving beyond minimum compliance requirements to achieve substantive public outreach. INSPIRE (Project ID Euro-MED0401041, CUP F49I25000250006) operates through a transnational partnership of eight organisations across five Mediterranean countries. The initiative is co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg Euro-MED Programme, with a total budget of €1,750,810 and EU contribution of €1,400,648 over a 33-month implementation period. The informational installation forms part of a comprehensive communication and dissemination strategy designed to engage multiple stakeholder categories in the project’s sustainable tourism approach, including local communities, tourism operators, agricultural producers, environmental associations and public administrations.
